day 39....... along the perfume river in hue

now mainly trees stand among the remains

drying incense along road to king tuduc's tomb

entering tuduc's tomb... built and used before his death as a summer palace

memorials to his life

and the statuary who will serve him in death

a beautiful place to spend your twilight years or just a lazy afternoon

day 36, 37 .......... halong bay

enroute to halong city

our ship and lodging for the night

cruising the islands of halong bay

life exists afloat... even the convenience store

enter the "amazing cave"

exit only slightly "amazed"

night falls back on the boat

and we do some squid fishing

alas no squids were caught... only feet

morning on the open sea

lazy jane was having difficulty navigating

somehow we found our way through

to calmer waters

but only during lowtide

some areas were tighter than others

Day 35 ........ perfume pagoda
